George W. Bush: Decider-in-Chief
I found this link on the HuffingtonPost it's a song check it out here.
Hey I like cider. But I only liked this Decider for the seventy six minutes that I was watching Journeys With George. Now lets talk about every bloggers best friend. Our utter failure of a President.
He can't speak. But that might be his point. Why should a President need to rely on the legitimizing effects of doing real outreach and dialogue with the country. He was crow barred into office with very real politicol muscle. After that brazen show of power the leap to totaly blow off the country excercice the power he imagined he might have lost during the post election manuevering. He wouldn't be constrained or timid. He would be audatious and unrelenting. So he is the "Decider". WTF. Imagine if he had been Al Gore. I can't even imagine. Someone should go around and figure out who would have been what During an Al Gore Presidency and try and deduce where we'd be in 2006 if He'd one or even if McCain had won. None of the above would have gone for that Tax cut. Following 9/11 in the short term there would probably been a tax cut of some kind to absorb shock to the business community. Both McCain and Gore believe in Science so a modified version of the Keyoto agreement on Global Warming would've been implemented. Where these two proposed histories would diverge is concering Iraq. But not by as much as you'de think. While McCain was for the overthrow of Saddam it is unlikely that an attack on his regime would have come at anytime between 2001 and Novermber of 2004. By 2005 however; the policy of regime change in Iraq would have been sitting on the books for over fiver years. That is a long time for even outside the oval office forces the force the Presidents hand. I wonder what each of them would have reaped from the outpouring of International goodwill following the attacks of 9/11?
