Arizona No Vacancy T-Shirt thing.

What does it mean? Where does it come from?
Is it xenophobic? If you're not a son or daughter of the 1970's Arizona desert. It's probably aimed at you. There are always exceptions but the people who wear these shirts seem to love the idea of the State they grew up in where the big sky and open space put the zap on you. The Desert is going quickly. Soon we will only have the mountains to remind us what the desert is supposed to look like. Progress shmogress. Give me the stars at night instead.
